1=RIP request; 2=RIP response

Version. 8 bits.
2 = RIP version 2

Reserved. 16 bits.
Must be all zeros

Route Table Entries. 32 bits.
The number of route table entries (RTEs) in this message

Address Family ID. 16 bits
value of 2 indicates address family is IP

Route Tag . 16 bits.
additional information pertaining to this route

IP Address . 32 bits.
IP address of the target directed to by this route. Default route = all zeros

Subnet Mask. 32 bits.
Subnet mask associated with target IP address
